RESIDENTIAL RENOVATION – FAMILY ROOM
A Client located in Downers Grove called us in to bring some life into their Family Room. As I’m sure many of you can relate, they were in desperate need of concealed storage for kids toys and extra circular activity items as well as a better lighting solution.
During our initial meeting, we felt there was a lot of real estate that was not being used in the space. Our design team created a full wall of built-ins and bench seating with plenty of storage. We selected a light fixture that disperses plenty of light, but can be adjusted to the clients desired level. The clients had an existing piece of art that they love, which was a painting of one of their first homes they shared together on the East Coast. The painting was full of bright colors, one of which was chartreuse. This became a featured hue throughout the design. Furniture selections included: a large area rug, sectional sofa, chair and a half, large round ottoman, and side table. Their overall style was fairly traditional, but they really wanted to push the envelope on a transitional/modern mix which is our forte.
