Lighting is a crucial component of interior design, setting the mood and enhancing the overall aesthetic of a space. That’s why we make it a point to attend the Dallas Lighting Market every year to stay ahead of the curve and bring the latest trends to our clients.
One of the main reasons we attend these markets is because ordering light fixtures online can be a bit tricky. It’s hard to gauge the quality and finish of a fixture through a computer screen, so seeing them in person gives us a better idea of what will work best for our clients.
But beyond that, these markets also give us a glimpse into the future of lighting design. The trends we see here are often a preview of what will hit the mainstream retail market in the next 3-5 years. So, if you want to know what’s coming down the pipeline in terms of lighting design, look no further.
For 2025, some of the top trends we’ve noticed include pearl strand style fixtures, from pendants to sconces and chandeliers. Ribbed textures, smoked and etched glass, and stone elements like travertine, alabaster, marble, and lava stone are also making waves in the design world.
One trend that surprised us was the lack of expansion in fanoliers, despite receiving numerous requests for them. However, integrated LED fixtures and brass finishes continue to remain popular choices for both residential and commercial spaces.
So, which of these trends are you most excited about? And which ones do you think you could do without? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates on upcoming lighting design trends.
