Project Scope: Downers Grove Residential Office Design – Layout, Built-ins Design, Furniture, Lighting, Rug Selection
First of all, we LOVE referrals! It’s the best compliment when a previous client was so happy with how we transformed their space that they love to rant and rave about our work. That being said, this Client happens to be a referral from a past Client.
These Clients, we will call “Stanley”, have several areas of the home that they would like to tackle over the next couple of years, but are starting with the home office design.
They need a space that is versatile for the husband to work from and/or kids to work on homework.
At our Schematic Design Meeting, we reviewed 3-4 3D space plan options to determine which would be best for how they would like the space to function, as well as overall aesthetic design direction.
The 3D space plan they chose:
- Designed built-ins for the one full wall that does not have windows keeping in mind placement for printer, etc.
- Added a bench seat in the box bay window
- Designed a custom floating desk to be accessible from either side
- Additional storage cabinets designated for the kids school supplies to be kept
3D Space Plan and Design Direction Board:
Upon confirmation of Design Direction, we initiated the next design phase in which we selected the pendant light fixture, rug, task chairs, storage cabinets, selected the finishes as well as refined the functionality of the built-ins, desk and bench seat; selected fabrics for the bench seat cushion, throw pillows and window treatments.
All selections have been approved and are in the purchasing/fabrication process with construction starting in a week. We can’t wait to share the finished space with you! Stay tuned and follow #DesaStanley on Instagram for project updates.
