Each year, we design a new area of the home for #DesaStanley. We’ve recently wrapped up Phase 3, the Dining Room, which is one of the first spaces you see when walking into the home. The home office is directly across the Foyer and was the first project we worked on together. The client wanted to continue the aesthetic cohesiveness while maintaining the functionality of hosting large gatherings.
In order to maximize the seating, we needed to source a table that had expanding capabilities so that it doesn’t always need to be extended. While a little tight, this table actually expands to seat 12 when necessary. When not in use, one of the two leaves is taken out to make the space feel more proportionate. In addition, the client felt that the room seemed dark, therefore we added a second light fixture in order to adjust the lighting levels.
The scope of work for this project consisted of paint, light fixtures, window treatments, rug selection, furnishings, artwork and accessories.
It’s amazing how different the space feels. See for yourself the BEFORE & AFTERS:
(don’t mind the boxes, it was Christmas time deliveries…)
With most of us spending more time in our homes these days, if you had the opportunity to start updating which room would you start with?
